NW Calgary Children’s Dentistry
Happy visits for happy kids.
Welcoming Children to 16th Avenue Dental
Setting your child up for long-term smile success.
Even though your child may not have any dental concerns or only one or two teeth, the more they visit the office, the more comfortable they become. These first visits are known as “happy visits.”
During a “happy visit”, we show your child around the office, talk to them about their teeth and brushing habits, and invite them to take a “ride” in the dental chair.
If your child is comfortable with us looking in their mouth, our dentist in NW Calgary counts their teeth, checks for signs of decay, and examines their mouth for anything unusual or of concern.
Depending on how your child feels at this visit, we’ll determine how to proceed. Unless we find anything of concern, we’ll let your child set the pace and help build trust for a happy and healthy smile.
Kid-Focused Visits
We see children from as young as one-year-old.
As your child develops more teeth, we introduce complete dental cleanings, examinations, and x-rays. Early dental visits help us spot areas of concern before they become bigger problems.
If we notice deep grooves in the enamel surface of the biting (molar) teeth, we can place a protective coating AKA tooth sealant. Sealants help protect teeth and reduce the chances of tooth decay.
At 16th Avenue Dental, we pride ourselves on providing a fun, friendly, and positive dental experience for children of all ages. The Canadian Dental Association recommends children visit the dentist within six months of their first tooth eruption or by age one.
We work closely with parents and kids to help ensure more comfortable and stress-free visits!
